Daniel Abma<\/strong> (born 1978 in the Netherlands) moved to Berlin after finishing his studies in Primary School Education. He worked as a media-literacy teacher before beginning his studies in Film Directing at the Film University Babelsberg in Potsdam (Germany). His feature length documentaries BEYOND WRIEZEN<\/strong> (2012), TRANSIT HAVANA<\/strong> (2016), AUTOBAHN<\/strong> (2019) and THE FAMILY APPROACH<\/strong> (2024) were shown at film festivals worldwide like Karlovy Vary Film Festival, IDFA, Vision du R\u00e9el and DOK Leipzig, and won several awards. Daniel Abma<\/strong> wurde 1978 in den Niederlanden geboren. Er zog nach seinem Studium der Grundschulp\u00e4dagogik von Amsterdam nach Berlin und arbeitete dort zun\u00e4chst als Medienp\u00e4dagoge. Anschlie\u00dfend absolvierte er sein Regiestudium an der Filmuniversit\u00e4t Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF in Potsdam. Seine abendf\u00fcllenden Dokumentarfilme NACH WRIEZEN (2012), TRANSIT HAVANNA (2016) AUTOBAHN (2019) und IM PRINZIP FAMILIE (2024) liefen weltweit auf Filmfestivals wie z.B. \nSince 2017 he works at Film University Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF where he teaches students in directing documentaries. Furthermore, he works as a tutor and trainer at pitching workshops (e.g. DOK Leipzig, Baltic Sea Docs Riga, Cinedoc Tbilisi, Docudays Kiev), and was part of the selection committee of the DOK-Leipzig film festival 2018 \u2013 2022, where he also moderated Q&A\u00b4s with film makers.<\/p>\n
<\/em>Daniel Abma arbeitet seit 2017 als Dozent f\u00fcr Dokumentarfilmregie an der Filmuniversit\u00e4t Babelsberg KONRAD WOLF und ist au\u00dferdem europaweit als Tutor und Trainer bei Pitch-Workshops auf Filmfestivals t\u00e4tig (u.a. DOK Leipzig, Baltic Sea Docs Riga, Cinedoc Tbilisi, Docudays Kiev). Zudem war er 2018 – 2022 Mitglied der Auswahlkommission f\u00fcr das DOK Leipzig Film Festival, wo er auch Filmgespr\u00e4che moderierte.<\/em><\/p>\n\n
