Gro\u00dfe Freude: IM PRINZIP FAMILIE<\/em> wurde am 19. Januar 2026 bei der Verleihung des Bayerischen Filmpreises im Prinzregententheater in M\u00fcnchen mit dem Preis f\u00fcr den Besten Dokumentarfilm ausgezeichnet. Aus der Begr\u00fcndung der Jury:<\/p>\n

\u201eMit feinem Gesp\u00fcr und gro\u00dfer Sensibilit\u00e4t begleitet der Film ihren Alltag, gepr\u00e4gt von Geduld, Verantwortung und F\u00fcrsorge. Die letzten Wochen des Jahres waren noch einmal unglaublich intensiv \u2013 und ich bin sehr dankbar f\u00fcr alles, was rund um unseren Film Im Prinzip Familie<\/span><\/span><\/span> passiert ist. Ein paar Highlights:<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u2022 Beim Verzio Film Festival<\/span><\/span><\/span> in Budapest durfte ich Teil eines Panels zum Thema \u201eHow to Safely Produce Even the Most Sensitive Topics?\u201c sein. Studierende des MA Graphic Design an der Metropolitan University gestalteten \u2013 inspiriert vom Film \u2013 eigene Filmplakate, au\u00dferdem gab es ein sehr aufschlussreiches Filmgespr\u00e4ch mit der gro\u00dfartigen Kinderrechte-Expertin Szilvi Gyurk\u00f3 von der Stiftung Hintalovon<\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/div>\n
\n

\u2022 Weitere Festivalstationen waren das Festival du film d’\u00e9ducation<\/span><\/span><\/span> in \u00c9vreux (Normandie), das Festival Internacional de Cine Documental de Buenos Aires (Argentinien) sowie das Duhok International Film Festival<\/span><\/span><\/span> in der Autonomen Region Kurdistan (Irak).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\u2728\"<\/span> Impact<\/div>\n
Neben regul\u00e4ren Kinovorf\u00fchrungen fanden zahlreiche Impact-Veranstaltungen statt. Einige H\u00f6hepunkte der letzten Monate:<\/div>\n
\u2022 In Stuttgart organisierte die Caritas Deutschland<\/span><\/span><\/span> eine Podiumsdiskussion, bei der Politiker:innen verschiedener Parteien nach dem Film ihre Positionen zur Kinder- und Jugendhilfe diskutierten.<\/div>\n
\u2022 In Erfurt wurde der Film gemeinsam mit Vertreter:innen lokaler freier Tr\u00e4ger und des Jugendamts intensiv besprochen \u2013 daraus entstanden f\u00fcnf weitere Folgeveranstaltungen mit dem Film in Erfurt.<\/div>\n
\n

\u2022 \u00dcber 50 Einrichtungen der SOS-Kinderdorf \u00d6sterreich<\/span><\/span><\/span> sahen und diskutierten den Film bundesweit im Online-Format \u201eP\u00c4DTalk\u201c.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\u2728\"<\/span> Fachtag mit Workshops (SFBB, Berlin\/Brandenburg)<\/div>\n
\n

Eine gro\u00dfe Fachveranstaltung mit \u00fcber 12 Workshops, in denen Fachkr\u00e4fte aus der Kinder- und Jugendhilfe die Themen des Films vertieft bearbeiteten. Anwesend war au\u00dferdem Staatssekret\u00e4r Dr. Fischer (MBJS, Land Brandenburg). Die Ergebnisse der Workshops werden im kommenden Jahr ver\u00f6ffentlicht.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\"\u2728\"<\/span> Angehende Erzieher:innen<\/div>\n
\n

Mehrere Vorf\u00fchrungen f\u00fcr angehende Erzieher:innen, u. a. in Zeitz im Rahmen der SchulKinoWochen Sachsen-Anhalt sowie in Rheine, Berlin und Wittstock. Dort setzten sich jeweils \u00fcber 100 Teilnehmer:innen in Filmgespr\u00e4chen und im Unterricht intensiv mit den Inhalten auseinander.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Unser Film wurde in diesem Jahr in \u00fcber 230 Kinos (!) in ganz Deutschland gezeigt und hat bereits mehr als 28.000 Besucher:innen erreicht.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Es gab \u00fcber 80 Impact-Veranstaltungen, und f\u00fcr 2026 sind bereits 20 weitere geplant.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What an incredible week at P\u00d6FF \u2013 Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival! \u2728
\nI was honoured to serve on the international documentary jury alongside my wonderful colleagues Marianne Ostrat and Tania El Khoury. It\u2019s the only festival where you can win a wolf as an award \u2013 and we were thrilled to hand out three wolves to outstanding filmmakers:

German documentary award 2025<\/h2>\n

Our impact campaign is going strong<\/h2>\n

With THE FAMILY APPROACH we aim to raise public awareness of child and youth welfare. Workshop „Bildgespr\u00e4che #8 – Konfliktstoff“<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Vom 6. bis 8. Dezember durfte ich f\u00fcr den Filmverband Sachsen den Workshop \u00bbBildgespr\u00e4che #8 \u2013 Konfliktstoff\u00ab in den gro\u00dfartigen R\u00e4umlichkeiten der Kulturfabrik Meda in Mittelherwigsdorf leiten. Zehn Filmschaffende setzten sich drei Tage lang intensiv mit Konflikten im Dokumentarfilm und ihren vielf\u00e4ltigen Facetten auseinander. Ziel des Workshops war es, das Potenzial von Konflikten als dramaturgisches Mittel f\u00fcr nonfiktionale Filme zu erschlie\u00dfen und ein Gesp\u00fcr daf\u00fcr zu entwickeln, Konflikte fr\u00fchzeitig zu erkennen, um sie gezielt mit der Kamera einzufangen.
\nZus\u00e4tzlich gab es Raum, aktuelle Fragen und Herausforderungen der Teilnehmenden in Bezug auf ihre eigenen Filmprojekte zu er\u00f6rtern und gemeinsam kreative L\u00f6sungsans\u00e4tze zu entwickeln. Es waren drei intensive und f\u00fcr mich ebenso \u00e4u\u00dferst inspirierende Tage!<\/div>\n

The Docudays UA International Documentary Film Festival is the largest documentary film festival in Ukraine. This year\u2019s edition was to begin on 25 March in Kyiv. It\u2019s no longer possible due to Russia\u2019s brutal attack and the ongoing war. The organizers of the Krakow Film Festival that starts today, decided to support their friends, stand up to cruel fate, and hold a part of the Ukrainian festival in Krak\u00f3w\u2019s\u2026 Kij\u00f3w (Kyiv) cinema.

Mentor at Global Short Docs Forum<\/h2>\n

The Global Short Docs Forum (GSDF)<\/a> is a initiative connecting filmmakers of documentary shorts with digital platforms. This year the GSDF took place in Ukraine during the wonderful Docudays UA film festival<\/a> in Kiev. 16 Filmmakers selected from a global call attended a 4-day residential workshop with pitching training, mentoring, masterclasses from industry experts and one-to-one meetings with decision makers. I was one of the mentors this year, together with Qutaiba Barhamji, Flora Gregory, Jean Garde and Dominique Young. Besides mentoring I moderated a Case-Study with Ukraine film maker Alisa Kovalenko and French producer Stephane Siohan, in which we compared the two films they made who happen to be about the same story & protagonist: a short HOME MATCH and a feature length documentary HOME GAMES. We experienced all about challenges, opportunities, methods and lessons learnt.<\/p>\n

Beyond Wriezen @ Exhibition<\/h2>\n

An excerpt from BEYOND WRIEZEN can currently be seen as part of the exhibition PRISON \/ IM GEF\u00c4NGNIS at the Mus\u00e9e international de la Croix-Rouge et du Croissant-Rouge in Geneva. The exhibition discusses philosophical, anthropological and sociological perspectives of imprisonment and also dares to ask the question of possible alternatives to our penalty system. In september 2020 the exhibition is to be seen at the Deutsches Hygiene-Museum in Dresden and October 2019 in the Mus\u00e9e des Confluences in Lyon (France).<\/p>\n

Ana Tsimintia and me will be the trainers during a 2-days pitching workshop which takes place at Cinedoc Tbilisi film festival. We will be tutoring 13 brand new documentary projects at the CivilPich: cooperations between Georgian filmmakers and local NGO\u00b4s. On the third day of the training the filmteams will pitch their projects in front of an international panel, moderated by Tue Steen M\u00fcller.
\nIt\u00b4s gonna be an intense week, as I am also in the jury for the CivilDOC competition at the film festival. I am very much looking forward to this!<\/p>\n
